Joe Kattan

Joe Kattan is the owner and CEO of AppraiseItNow, a tech-enabled appraisal company headquartered in New York City. AppraiseItNow prepares USPAP-compliant appraisals of personal property, fine art, machinery and equipment, vehicles, boats, inventory and closely held businesses for clients in all 50 states, remotely and in person.

AppraiseItNow was founded in October 2021. Joe Kattan became involved as a co-owner in 2022 and acquired full ownership in November 2024. He also builds the company's internal software: dashboards, AI agents and automation workflows.

Before AppraiseItNow, Joe Kattan worked as an associate consultant at Bain & Company until December 2024, mostly on growth strategy in industrials, aerospace and defense, and pharmaceuticals.

Joe Kattan earned a finance degree from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2023. At Maryland he spent much of his time on startup ventures in B2B services and technology, which is where he picked up the no-code automation and AI skills he now uses to run AppraiseItNow.

He writes occasionally about startups, operations and consulting, and he keeps a running list of every book he reads.
